Readme: BPPE (Best Painting Program Ever*) v0.95 created by Glynnder
----------------------------------------------------------------

* or Background to the program:
----------------------------------------------------------------
First off, this is actually just a mock up name, the history of this
program is that (although I had already began working on one) I was
asked to make, and I quote, 'The Best Paint Program EVER', so I made
my program (obviously still in its early stages) and titled it
BPPE - Best Painting Program Ever! Hope you like the name Trev ;P

Intro:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Official websites: www.pspro.co.uk, www.pspzones.com
Created by: Glynnder
This program, BPPE, is still a beta, however think it has just
about sufficient features to be 'downloadable'.
I reckon I will change the name soon, although I said that about PSysP Info
but just errr... didn't, however BPPE isn't a very good name so I really do
think I will change it, eventually!
This is technically the first un-beta version of BPPE, but I never released
a beta of it, this was simply because I had no internet connection and so
I couldn't release it!
I had made a topic on PSP Zones though, so you might wanna check that out!
However there sure was an EXTENSIVE list of beta's and for your personal
pleasure, I had put the ENTIRE changelog below, enjoy reading it :D
I think I have managed to iron out all the bugs but, as it hasn't been
released to the public yet I can't be sure.
The aim of the program was a) To be part of app33, b) To help me improve
my knowledge of lua, and that was VERY successful, c) To please trevor
now that is a BIG reason d) To add to the already extensive list
of paint apps, e) To (eventually) be as good as PDLP or whatever its called
f) To prove to my mates that I can code something of interest to them
g) To hopefully make something that I can use h) I dont think there is an
'h'!
Again I think there may be some unused thing in there, but I dont think they
will lead you to anything, at the moment there is only really ONE main thing
I really really really really really (you get the picture) want to add, and
that is... I'm not telling. You will find out soon, but I will add lots of
other things along the way.
It currently features quite a few things and the 'features and how to use them
part of this readme should tell you all about them!

Known Bugs:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes, if you use a lot of the menu based features then it may hang on exit,
do not worry if it does, I am trying to sort this out
Also for some really wierd reason, the paintbrush has suddenly becomeA) Pixelated
and B) working a bit badly.

To do:
----------------------------------------------------------------
One really big thing! - Will not start that for a loooooong while!
Get a working menu in - Pretty much done now!
Save as multiple image formats - Done! (Still slightly dodgey)
That funny line thing in PDLP - That is soo cool
Layers - Onion-o-riffic (watch Shrek)
USB Mode - Done -however, not for 2.6 =(
Fix any bugs you guys find =)
General Code optimisation
Other, small things, done lots of them, added the square tool
like now lol!

Controls:
----------------------------------------------------------------
X - Selects everything and controls the paintbrush
O - Clears Canvas goes forward in the menu, takes the screenshot when
you select your format form the save menu
[] - Eraser, leaves some dialog boxes
/\ - Sets the second location of the straight line, leaves some menu's
L Hold down to show the help screen
R - Opens menu
Analog Stick - Cursor
D-Pad- Controls the menu
Start - Quit
Select - Screenshot, pressing select will make a menu appear so u can pick your format.
Home - Nothing (Designed to work on 2.6 PSP's)

Features and how to use them:
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Brush - This can have any colour on the colour selecter and can have
any of the five line width's. This is the default thing but can also be
selected by the brush icon on the toolbox

2. Pencil - This is pretty much the same as the brush except it doesn't
have line widths, useful so you don't accidentally pick a line width but
I might make it use a different colour to the brush so you can have two
colours stored into the memory, this can be selected by the big(ger)
pencil icon on the toolbox

3. Eraser - This simply erases, soon I will probably add erasor sizes,
but that is for a later version (hopefully not much later). This can
be used by square, if selected (to use by X) from the eraser icon
on the toolbox. Now it erases in whatever your background colour is
instead of just being white - this is REALLY important hing to remember

4. 'Swirl Bomb'- I don't have a clue what to name this, basically
it creates a really cool, 3d effect, on a line that changes colour
depending on the location of your cursor, this can be really effective
and looks great. It can be activated by selecting the (obvious) icon from
the toolbox and pressing X, then use it like a normal brush!

5. Dotted line- This creates a simple dotted line, it looks pretty good but the
only drawback is that you cant change the size! It can be used either by
holding down L and X and moving the cursor around, or by selecting dotted line
the toolbox. Its icon is a small pencil with a dotted line coming out, then
you just use it as the pencil or brush

6. Erase all- This can be used by either pressing O, to clear the canvas, or
by selecting it from the toolbox (the bomb), if you select it from the toolbox
you will get a confirmation message. It now clears to the same background
colour instead of white everytime (it's the little things)

7. BGColour- This changes your canvas's background colour, but BE WARNED, it
also clears the canvas! It can be activated either by pressing sqaure on the
colourselect box, or by selecting the 'BGColour' icon from the toolbox and
pressing 'X' on the colour of your choice. If you press 'X' on the canvas,
BPPE will return to your previous brush with the activated bg colour!
Unless you didn't pick a bg colour, then it just switches you back to your
previous brush

8. Cursor Location Display- This simply displays the location (coordinates) of your cursor,
it displays it in x, y, so, horizontal, vertical. This is always on
and is displayed at the bottom of your screen.

9. Changing Toolbox bg - This is a really pointless, but cool, feature, when
you move your cursor horizontally the background color of the toolboxes fades
from blue to white, this is just a bit of fun and is always on!
9b. Changing menu bg- This is pretty much the same except when the menu is open
it changes through almost all colours depending on the horizontal and vertical location of your cursor

10. Screenshot Viewer- This is now completely different from what it was, I have taken
this feature out of beta now. When you either go to 'View' in the menu, or press 'X'
on the view screenshot icon, a menu will appear.
This will give you the options to load any of the following screenshots:
Name------------------|-------------------Image
Png Screen 1 screenshot.png
Png Screen 2 screenshot2.png
Jpg Screen 1 screenshot.jpg
Jpg Screen 2 screenshot2.jpg
Tga Screen 1 screenshot.tga
Tga Screen 2 screenshot2.tga
Which correspond to the images you saved with the save function.

11. Time- this shows the time and date, period. However by one release
I may add it showing a drop down menu with something when you hover over it.

12. Battery level- This displays the system battery level, if you hover over
it, a manu will drop down showing the time left, the volts, whether it is
charging or not and some other things.

13. The canvas- This is where you paint, the background changes depending on
the selected bg colour.

14. Colourselect- Change the colour of what ever your implement is here.
Bear in mind it changes the colour of everything to that selected colour except
the Swirl Bomb. I am also in the process of adding a box that shows your current colour.

15. Help screen- press L to show this screen, it lists most basic functions.
It is now pretty much complete.

16. Straight Line tool- This makes a straight line, it can only be selected from the toolbox.
X sets the first coordinate (a dot will appear) and /\ sets the second one and shows the line.

17. Menu- This is still incomplete, but will have links to save (see below), view screenshots,
clear all, exit, and start afresh. It will also have another feature which I havent decided yet.

18. Save images, this works well, I am still in the process of refining this as I
speak, but you will be able to export 2 screenshots per format in any of these formats:
screenshot.png, screenshot2.png, screenshot.jpg, screenshot2.jpg, screenshot.tga and
screenshot2.tga, when you open the screenshot viewer you pick the format and the screeny will appear!
This is a great feature, but for some reason I was unable to make it close this menu and then auto
take the screeny, so you press 'X' on your desired format on the save menu then it will exit, then
you press 'O' on your canvas to take the screenshot in that format!
What I might do is make it so select takes the screenshot in that format...

19. Start afresh- This basically removes all choices, the bg colour, the cursor position,
the previous menu selection etc etc...
NB. This DOES NOT delete your screenshots, it did but that was inconvenient so i removed
that part of it!

20. Square Tool- This is still quite dodgey at the moment, but its better than
nothing. 'X' sets the first corner and then Triangle sets the second one, and
creates a square or rectangle in your active colour.

21. USB Mode- If you click the USB icon, a menu screen will appear to confirm it,
if you are not using an eLoader then USB will work. So if you click O to confirm
using USB. USB mode will then activate and the words 'USB Mode' will appear at the
bottom of the screen.

Please bear in mind that there may be more features, but this readme was
written at an early beta stage of the program, sorry for any errors!
